The 18th century is making a comeback in a big way. With the help of the smash Broadway musical, Hamilton, and AMC's Turn: Washington's Spies, shows like these help to put history and historic sites like Hope Lodge back in the spotlight. Viewers turn their love of these shows into a very real desire to learn more about what it might have been like to live in the 18th century.

As the President of the Friends of Hope Lodge, I am thrilled to be able to use this exciting new upsurge in historical interest as an invitation for you to visit  Hope Lodge, now in it's 270th year. I, along with our outstanding Board, members and volunteers are ready with fresh new events and programming that will entice you, our visitors back to Hope Lodge.

In the 1920's and 1930's, the last private owners of Hope Lodge, William and Alice Degn, were famous for their hospitality by hosting afternoon teas, card parties and dinners. They truly loved inviting relatives and friends, as well as tourists, to see their beautiful mansion filled with stunning antiques and magnificent gardens. The Friends of Hope Lodge now extend this same invitation to you.

We hope that you will plan to visit our site during one of our events or when the house is open for tours  each Sunday afternoon, April through October. You may also reach out to us via email at hopelodgepa@gmail.com or by phone 215-646-1595 to let us know what you would like to see at our site to make your visit especially enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming you into our beautiful home and grounds. President, The Friends of Hope Lodge
